A New Eye in the Sky

During the recent devastating wildfires in Knysna, SAARU volunteers were on the ground, providing critical aerial intelligence to firefighting teams. Our drones, equipped with thermal imaging cameras, were able to identify hotspots that were invisible to the naked eye, allowing for more effective resource allocation and ultimately helping to contain the blaze faster.

This operation highlights the power of drone technology in disaster response. By providing real-time data from a unique vantage point, we can help save lives, homes, and natural habitats. We are incredibly proud of our volunteer pilots who worked tirelessly around the clock.
